The Lightest Element

Simon Chandler & Maureen Beattie

 

Opening at The Hampstead Theatre this month is The Lightest Element starring Maureen Beattie and Simon Chandler.

 

Set in Boston, 1956, Stella Feehily explores the challenging of social norms intertwined with the scientific backdrop of the twentieth century. Maureen is Cecilia, a renowned astronomer set to become Chair of Astronomy at Harvard, who enlists the help of a student journalist to help control her narrative in a male-dominated world.

Maureen Beattie

Raised in Glasgow, MAUREEN BEATTIE’s natural Scottish accent lends a lyrical style to her voice and liveliness to her character.

Skilled in other regional UK dialects of Scottish, Irish and RP, as well as American dialects, her recent work includes Our House on ITV, Black Cake for HULU and popular video game World of Warcraft. A welcoming voice, her wonderfully fun persona gives an energetic life to her read.

Simon Chandler 

Seen as Septon Eustace in HBO’s House of the Dragon and previously as Clement Attlee in The Crown, Simon is, unequivocally, a very versatile actor with ability to speak both English and French.

Simon’s delivery is gentle and informative, he holds a gravity in documentary and narrative roles– a wonderful pick for an older voice with lively variations and comedic moments

Eternal Strands

Mei Mac

 

Mei Mac has been announced as the lead in upcoming video game Eternal Strands. The new fantasy action-adventure title from Yellow Brick Games follows Brynn, a young but fearless Weaver battling towering beasts and magical creatures to recover her home.

Mei Mac

Mei completed a successful run in the premiere of UNTITLED F*CK M*SS S**GON PLAY at the Young Vic Theatre and reprised her lead role in the stage adaptation of MY NEIGHBOUR TOTORO at the Barbican. Her outstanding performance has already earned her an Olivier Award nomination.

Mei’s on screen work includes the role of ‘Ling’, the lead in Comedy Central’s series EAST MODE as well as the guest lead in the Christmas Special of CALL THE MIDWIFE for the BBC.

Her voice work includes the video game SIFU and the upcoming podcast series UP IN SMOKE.

Fluent in Cantonese, Mei also boasts an impressive range of accents in her repertoire. She is undoubtedly a rising star in the entertainment industry.

The second series of the highly anticipated BBC show, Sherwood, is finally here. David Harewood plays Dennis Bottomley in the James Graham drama introducing new characters into the feuding families and rivalries from the first season.

David Harewood

The widely recognised David Harewood has a powerful and distinctive voice.

An extremely versatile actor, his notable roles in SUPERGIRL, BLOOD DIAMOND and HOMELAND, David also holds numerous vocal credits including WENDELL & WELL, THE ABOMINABLE SNOW BABY, THE SANDMAN (podcast series) and various video games such as HORIZON ZERO DAWN and CALL OF DUTY:INFINITE WAREFARE; He was recently seen in the popular video game, ALAN WAKE II.
