Ruby Wax is a British-American entertainer, whose career has spanned comedy, acting, writing, and voice work. She started out as a trained actress with the Royal Shakespeare Company after studying drama in the UK, and from there moved into television, where she quickly became known for her sharp wit and no-nonsense interviewing style. In the 1980s and ’90s, she fronted a series of popular TV shows in the UK, including The Full Wax, Ruby Wax Meets..., and Ruby, where she interviewed celebrities in her trademark bold and often hilarious way. Behind the camera, she worked as a script editor on the hit sitcom Absolutely Fabulous. Ruby also appeared in a number of films, including Shock Treatment (1981), the cult sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Chariots of Fire (1981). Alongside her on-screen roles, Ruby has done a range of voice acting throughout her career. She has voiced various characters in animated specials like The Willows in Winter and Robbie the Reindeer: Legend of the Lost Tribe, Animals United. While many now know her for her work in mental health and writing, her entertainment credits reflect a long-standing career filled with memorable performances, sharp comedy, and a talent for both satire and storytelling.
