THE POWER OF THE DOG is Jane Campion’s new Western drama, based on the 1967 novel of the same name by Thomas Savage. Set in 1925 Montana, BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH plays protagonist Phil Burbank, who owns a ranch with his brother George. After George marries widower Rose (Kristen Dunst), Phil feels threatened and launches a sadistic campaign of torment towards her. THE POWER OF THE DOG opens in UK cinemas from 19th November and will be available worldwide on Netflix from 1st December. Watch the Netflix trailer here.
This year has been a busy one for Benedict: He is playing the lead role in THE ELECTRICAL LIFE OF LOUIS WAIN, which is in UK cinemas from 31st December, and has reprised his role as Doctor Strange for SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, releasing 15th December. Another Marvel film, DR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, is due for release in 2022.
